"One future, two choices --
oppose them or let them destroy us."

And yet, what a shame it is
that so many choose the latter
option and resign themselves to
a life of destruction by compliance.

And yet, how equally shameful it is
to cry a sea of crocodile tears over
a spirit of resistance that never existed;
romanticized, glorified, yet never realized,
at least not for any meaningful passage
of time to make such resistance permanent.

We live in a world so odious
out of fear of the unknown,
doomed to sacrifice our dreams
for a reality that, though unbearable,
remains unalterable if only because
"It Works."

"If we don't do the impossible we shall
be faced with the unthinkable."

And so long as we carry on without so
much as a whimper, that is the world
we shall have; we shall forever go
gently into that good night.
